About Us

Upon graduating from Decatur Central High School in 1971, I entered Purdue University School of Engineering and Technology graduating in 1978 with a Bachelor of Science degree. During my freshman year at Purdue, I was drafted into the United States Army. I was trained in classified communications with training in computer programming and operations for classified information. I proudly served in Seoul, Korea. Upon completion of my military obligations I was honorably discharged and returned to finish my degree.

After graduation from Purdue, I worked for Rieth-Riley Construction on various bridges, roads, airport runways and earthwork projects. After leaving Rieth-Riley, I went to work for Geupel Demars as a project engineer/superintendent for the construction of the new Indianapolis Zoo.

In October of 1987, I started Pulliam-Scott Construction Inc with Ron Scott and started my custom home building career along with remodeling, renovation and light commercial construction. Several years ago, I bought out Ron Scott so that he could relocate to Florida. My business is structured so that all of my clients deal directly with me. I have no superintendent or manager.

My wife, Gayle, and I have been married since 1982 and we have 3 children.

Because of our soaring ceilings and long spans of open spaces, we knew from the beginning that we needed a custom builder with really good engineering skills. When we saw that Bill Pulliam had an engineering degree from Purdue, it was a big plus in our decision to use his company. Bill was very easy to work with. His attitude showed us that he truly cared. He wanted to make sure that we were happy with our home in every regard. He was on the job site daily keeping a close watch on every step of the process. He was very honest and trustworthy. He made building our first custom home a pleasurable experience. We have recommended Bill to many of our friends and they all feel the same way. Pulliam-Scott Construction built our current home. It was our fourth new home and the second that we designed and had built. It is, by far, the best home that we have owned. My wife and I had compiled a long list of important criteria when we set out to consider a custom builder for our latest home. First of all, we visited several homes that Bill Pulliam had built and spoke to those home owners. Each one “checked the box” on several key points that we had on our list – unique designs, high quality of construction materials, attention to details, reliability, honesty, and follow through.

Once we began construction on our home, other important factors became evident. Many of the sub contractors had worked with Bill for 10 or more years. They were very professional and knew in advance that if their work wasn’t done absolutely correct the first time, Bill would have them start over.

Bill insisted that he would always be available to follow up on any questions or problems after our home was finished. It has been seven years for us and he is still addressing every question or minor problem that we have encountered. You could call it a lifetime home warranty. That’s difficult to beat.

Finally, Bill believes in establishing a permanent and warm relationship with his homeowners. My wife and I continue to enjoy his friendship, as well as, the great custom home that he has built for us.
